MY MOVE TO PAHRUMP, NEVADA

1 year of living in Pahrump:

Over 1 year passed since I have been living and breathing in ever sweet Pahrump, Nevada

My move to Pahrump is still proving to be exciting. Though the drive to work in Vegas is a pain. And work is a pain...... In less than 2 years, the new car ( Hyundai Sonata with a 5 speed stick) I bought has 60,000 miles on it. Still running like a top. My truck sits idle Just started every coupla weeks. The VW station wagon (type III) is purring now. Its used daily as the gas mileage is pretty reasonable. Thank GOD gas prices have come down. Th VW BAJA has no plates right now and is used to explore the desert. But this is summer in the desert and the heat of day is HOT! But, I am blessed with my weekends and a few picture of the last coupla months here in beautiful Pahrump follow. This place is like living in a wild west town. Some people walk around with weapons on their belt. But it still has a small country town atmosphere compared to modern Vegas. 32,000 people can't be wrong. I cringe when I hear of developers wanting to come in and devlop the area. Well let them pay for the infrastructure. It sure needs it now.

Below are few pics of events over the first coupla months of 2005. More is planned but staying within budget comes first.

Yes, It snows here not much but! New houses are still being built but has slowed down somewhat. Land prices have prob doubled in a year now. The property behind me a beautiful stick built house is done and the owner lives there on the weekend. (G)

With February passing big hauling trucks tore the road up. This road wasn't meant to carry tandem belly dumps loaded. And as usual, no one bothered to repair it, even with numerous calls tto the county and city.
