In Pahrump, I buy my parts from Phil at Doghouse Repair. He's also the guy who goes to Dumont Dunes and sells parts from his trailer. He is very well stocked with parts when he's both home (his store) and at Dumont(His mobil store). If he doesn't have it, he can get it. I think he the buggy guru!!!!!

Watch as we build our car. This may take some time to work through as unlimited funding is not available. We will be working on a budget.. Sorta...And time is on our side as there is NO deadline

Here's what we'll use to get started:

First you'll need a place to build the frame and put your equipment for building the car in. Below is a pic of the inside of my new 2 car(20X20 foot) garage BEFORE I moved in to it. Lots a room. A bigger area is really needed but I can get by with this. But, watch how cluttered it gets after all my garage stuff gets put in it. You'll also need a tubing(NOT A PIPE) bender Also the rearend. All are pictures below

Below is a pic of the tubing bender. Its a PRO TOOLS air over hydraulic tubing bender. Pipe benders will not work. Cost here is $1500... A cheaper PRO TOOLS MANUAL BENDER can be used that costs around $600 with a fairly good size protractor for accuracy. And must be solidly mounter.I've seen both in action. Both are excellent for accurate bending. Both come with 1 set of tubing dies. Any size. I ordered mine with the 1.5 inch tubing die. They can be found at WWW.PRO-TOOLS.COM

Below is the 91 Ford T-Bird IRS rearend. Although a better choice would of been a Lincoln Mark series (90-00) with aluminum 3rd member and disk brakes. This was cheap and available.....

Next, we will pull the 350 motor and Turbo 350 trans from my vintage 1976 Chevelle.. After that we bolt it all together and go into Las Vegas for the 1.5 in .095 tubing for out first bend, hopefully in January 2005.....

Date : 03-31-05 On a quick update, Jason's prototype car has been up and running. Presidents day weekend it debuted at Dumont Sand Dunes and kicked-ass! Basically a shakedown weekend. There is 1 picture at the dunes and a few more to look at of the running car with the BIG Ford IRS special modified rearend seen elsewhere on this web site along with the frame built and standing before the motor. The car is far from complete but has ran at Dumont. Here is a few pictures to look at a finished custom built car. Of course I will use a standard Ford T-Bird IRS rearend, 350 Turbo Trans and 350 Chevy motor to market a kit here soon. Click below for the pics.
