Hobby-Lobby Electric FireCat

[Firecat1.jpg]

Well, it's the start of a new project. Back in January of 2002, I ordered the Hobby-Lobby Electric Firecat, with all the options. After receiving all the options, I was informed the Firecat was back ordered. Seems the factory (in the CZECH REPUBLIC in Europe) was overwhelmed with orders (I love Capitalism !!!!) after the Model Airplane News review gave it a 10... It finally arrived today (April 25,2002). Above is a pic as the plane arrived. On opening, the box was filled with those styrafoam widgets. I hate those things. They get all over the place. But, they do protect the ARF from damage. I opened the box to find another box with even more styrafoam widgets. ACK! Well, let's see whats inside.

Below is a view of "the options". I ordered the FireCat with a JETI PHASOR 15-4 Brushless motor, 9 cell 2000 Metal Hydride battery pack, Graupner 10-4 propeller. Also with the JETI 30-3P BEC speed controller. The radio will be a HITEC System-X Flash 5 Digital Proportional Computer Radio System with 5 HS-81 servo's. This model should be capable of going vertical and even torque rolls.

Above my Grandaughter Caila gives a thumbs up to the plane and new project! The FireCat is of high quality. The covering is tight and excellent. I would give this ARF a 10 so far. Construction looks and is high quality also. Lets see what the upcoming days show in finishing and flying this ARF. Look for more updates soon on this project.......
