--=BIRTH OF A SAND/DESERT CAR, Joining The Upper and Lower Frame Halves with Inserts and Uprights=--

Joining The Upper and Lower Halves
Here the top side halves of the frame and the bottom side halves are joined and put together..... An insert sleeve made of 1.25" x .095 tubing is inerted into each half of 1.50 x .095 frame half. Later we will drill holes into the outer tubing and weld the insert to the outer frame and make it solid throught the hole. The halves are joind and tack welded for now.

Uprights are put in for the forming of our basice frame. As you can see from the pics here, HIGHLY SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT is used in making the frame (G)

Cross pieces inserted and notched, then tacked. Main seat crossmember is tacked into place for refernce.

I feel like Henry Ford building his first automobile. Its touch and go. I can refer to plans from pictures I've taken of other cars. But, in the end, its roll your own....... I have to take a step back to see how everything is looking and symetrics of all the compononents. To make sure everything is looking good, another run to the garage fridge is placed for another COLD BUDWIESER... AAAAAAhhhhhhhh yes, Everything is looking good!

As u can see, it's starting to take shape and look familiar to a desert rat. Not sure when I can move forward on this but the project is crawling along fine!!!!!
