RADIO CONTROL BOATING
[prop.GIF]

Well, the previous few weeks have proved exciting. We've ran the CAT. We've crashed it. We've changed props to test speed. It has blown over... It has porposed into the waves. It was ran aground, which a needed replacement of the stuffing tube. No Prob! I also have extra parts I bring along. Like flex cables, throttle cable, props, prop shafts, etc.. One never knows when they will be needed. Also the HOBBICO CHARGER PLUS has proved worthy of recharging the batteries. I use a fishing tackle box to hold the tools and spare parts. It also doubles as my FLIGHT BOX for my airplane.

Problems I've had so far:
--------------------------

ZENOAH starter cord broke.... replaced and bought spare

Crash on rocks...OUCH!!!!... replaced stuffing tube

FLEX DRIVE replaced due to bad solder joint

Loose BOLTS and FASTENERS.... tighten!

Adjusted rudder/servo thro's.

RUNNING & PROPS:
-------

First prop run was a PRATHER 275... This proved most excellent.. I tried an OCTURA 480, i believe is the correct number, but it ran good but was not as fast as the other larger props... I also ran a PRATHER 280. This is the largest prop PRATHER makes. I believe I could of raised it higher on the strut, but did not try..... It showed alot more top end as far as speed, but the ZENOAH seemed sluggish. So i went back to the PRATHER 275 for now. Later on I will experiment with angle and depth of the strut. Although I did experiment with the angle and depth of the 275 prather prop, I did not try and adjust the other props for proper speed..... I also enlarged the slot on the strut to allow a higher prop. The strut was ground out almost .25 of an inch allowing the prop to ride higher off the water.
