--=BIRTH OF A SAND/DESERT CAR, Firewall and SheetMetal=--

Firewall and Sheet Metal
I made the firewall out of .065 aluminum sheet that I had left. Measuring and notching to fit. Its 2 piece for ease of installation and fitting..... Plus it will provide the driver and passenger protection from coolant tube failure, thrown belt and mainly protection from the heat of the motor, headers, etc..... This Firewall is a must. Eventually it will be covered by insulation as heat given off by the headers can be very detrimental and VERY uncomforteable,(it can burn the seats) plus it will keep alot of noise behind u.. An upper and lower section is made to install behind the cockpit seats. Brackets were welded on first, then the sheets were cut and installed with bolts.....

.....

I cut and notched the aluminum firewall to fit. Then bolted it in place....

I made the firewall from 2 pieces of .065 aluminum. But, I am running out of brackets to mount it.

I used the rest of the aluminum sheet to fabricate the 2 front body side panels Then mounted them and formed the aluminum around the curve frame....
